We’ll discuss 4 steps to remove rust & corrosion from your vehicle. The sooner you start, the better! this will help you and go a long way, when you buy obs spares from us, we educate you on many things
1. Cleaning of your vehicle –
The first thing on your list will be to clean off any loose debris and dirt that may have accumulated over time. If you have a pressure washer at home, this will make things much easier for you. If not, you can simply use a bucket and brush to clean off any dirt and debris from the affected areas. Be sure to wear safety glasses and gloves when handling chemicals.
2. Sanding
Once you have cleaned off the surface, it’s time to start sanding. Use medium-grit sandpaper (220 grit) to remove any remaining paint or rust that is on the surface of your vehicle. Be sure to use a sanding block to avoid damaging the paint on your vehicle. If you are not sure how much sanding is needed, try doing a test area first before moving on to the rest of the car. If you need more sanding done after this step, feel free to repeat it.
3. Priming –
Once you have cleaned and sanded the surface of your car, it’s time to prime it. This will help seal any small cracks or crevices in the metal so that they do not become bigger problems later on. Priming is also a good idea if you have a car that has been painted previously, even if it was only within the last year or so. You can use any type of primer in this step; however, be sure to follow all directions on the packaging and get rid of any leftover primer or dust before moving on to Step 4.
4. Painting –
After priming your car, you can begin painting it. Be sure to choose high-quality paint that will last for many years and cover any defects on the surface of your vehicle; this step is an important one because it will determine how long your paint job lasts. You should also use a high-quality paintbrush and roller for this step. Your car will look much better if you take your time and make sure that each area is covered thoroughly; remember to avoid drips, runs, or other mistakes in this process. If you want to save money, consider doing some of the painting yourself. This will require some skill and experience, but if you’re able to do it then it can save you a lot of money in the long run. You can use any type of paint in this step; however, be sure to follow all directions on the packaging and get rid of any leftover paint.
